𧨠QUICKFIRE BLOG RECAP – Saturday 5 April 2025
Stake: £13.00 (52x £0.25 EW Canadian)
Outcome: ❌ No returns – All five selections unplaced.
π Selections Recap:
1️⃣ Building Bridges @ 29.00
π 13:20 Aintree – Handicap Hurdle
π Result: Well positioned early but faded quickly after hitting the front last – finished 9th.
πͺ¦ Had every chance turning in, but lacked staying power late.
2️⃣ Frero Banbou @ 29.00
π 14:30 Aintree – Handicap Chase
π Result: Pulled up – never involved.
π€ Struggled to land a blow – fitness or stamina issues suspected.
3️⃣ Buddy One @ 34.00
π 15:05 Aintree – Liverpool Hurdle (Grade 1)
π Result: Finished 7th of 11 – never truly threatened.
π« Didn’t travel well enough to make an impact in a strongly run staying race.
4️⃣ Vanillier @ 17.00
π 16:00 Aintree – Grand National
π Result: 14th of 34 – midfield early but tailed off from 21st fence.
π Ran flat – perhaps not firing or ground against him.
5️⃣ Crackerjacque @ 21.00
π 17:35 Aintree – Grade 2 Bumper
π Result: 10th of 15 – never landed a blow.
π€ Middling effort in a race dominated by stronger types – ran below expectations.
π― Reflection:
Despite enhanced place terms in every race (4 to 6 places available), not a single runner made the frame. Harsh reminder that high-priced value bets still need a clear path to progression or tactical advantage – something missing in today’s quintet.
π§Ό No disgrace in the logic – but no execution on the day.
π Post-Race Summary:
π Each selection had an outsider's chance in deep fields with bonus place angles.
π Execution fell short – some selections were too speculative without concrete progression evidence.
π Time to fine-tune final screening filters – especially in graded races and bumper contests.
π‘ System Note:
Keep using enhanced place races strategically – they continue to offer upside if runners meet the full each-way checklist.
